Never knew there were single diode RFMs in use, does anyone know if there were any others used elsewhere?

Makes me wonder if it predated the debut of the RFS since the Street View capture was taken in 2017. If I recall correctly, the RoadFocus series debuted in 2016. The city of Lacey, WA was the first place I ever saw them in use.

Interesting, I wonder...

Often times it seems the smallest size of LED luminaires come out later than the original (Eg: ATBX, Archeon nano, Verdeon Small, ERLC, etc...)

@LightsoftheWest  -- I suppose. However, I've seen RFMs installed as early as 2016 in one local municipality which was 90-100% MV until mid-2016 when the mass conversion rolled out.

Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time and a concerted effort to learn something new. Don't give up before you get where you want to go.
