Are mercury vapor or metal halide cobra heads common where you live? « on: Today at 01:25:14 AM » Author: Goodlighting2000
In my area, where I live, mercury vapor and metal halide cobra heads are very rarely used, and the only exception is Stringtown Rd, Grove City OH which has MH cobra heads. HPS ones are still very common for now though Columbus plans to go LED in 2027 so they won’t be used for much longer.

Where you live, are there any cobra heads that are metal halide or mercury vapor and not only HPS? Also, does your place have modern cobra heads in mercury vapor or metal halide or just the older ones?

My area hasn't had mercury cobraheads in 25+ years...

For as long as I've lived in my area, it's been almost all LED except for some HPS fixtures here and there, they're relatively common (about 25%). But not streetlights are MV. Some metal halide floodlights still light up parking lots, but it's pretty rare. The only mercury vapor I've seen are some storage facilities that use MV Area Lights.
