As for the conversion - why ?And to replace 58w T8s you need quite high power LEDs (around 58w as well) - How you do the heatsinking ?

depends on what oyu call light some area. While some members here use HID indoors i light my entire room with just 1 11w PL...

As for the light output - i dont think A shaped LEDs (and i asume they are high CRI and not the blue-light thing found in LED floodlights) can be twice as efficient as 840 58w T8s. If there is difference i'd think it goes towards either optics (FLlights up to the ceilingtoo while LED lights down). So i'd choose the T8s with a reflector every day over a set of A-LEDs

Then thats the problem - Using tubes in a fixture that only let 1/3 of the light out is a waste of energy
