Yup, the tube + the fact that its preheat are the main reasons I want it...but yea $100 is a bit much.  Hoping maybe it won't sell and they'll lower it some. 

Well its gone through 2 auctions now and hasn't sold...  They haven't relisted it yet a 3rd time.  The 2nd time they kept the same prices though  .  Maybe if they do relist again they'll lower it some.

relisted 100$ base price and 400 for buy it now.
someone is missing some base marketing rules: if you can't sell it, you have to lower prices.

If it is really black, hard and leaking only from the "core and coil" assembly, it is simply tar and not any PCB.

PCB's are only in the capacitor oil (so it can only leak from the capacitor), what is normally transparent (like water,...) or slightly yellowish (if contaminated by or mixed with tar or such components). And because of the oil, it will never harden...

So if the capacitor is really intact (not leaking,...), it mean it for sure is no PCB in the leak.

i think he would have sold it if price was half.

pyrenol capacitor is pcb.
if it hasnt leaked in 60 years and is not rusty i would not worry about it.
