Lava lamp wax maintenance « on: December 22, 2014, 08:04:03 AM » Author: Flurofan96
Hiya

I'm probably wondering what is the best tips for maintenance of your lava lamp? Because I've heard that if you use the lava lamp incorrectly you can cause the wax to stay at the top of the globe and it stays up there even when fully cooled down

Any tips/advice would be great, thanks  :)

Wax staying on the top, is if you use an incandescent lamp of too high wattage, so the temperature is higher than 60*C.

Thanks for the answer, dor123  :)

Also there was some warning to not run the lava lamp more than 10 hours and plus when you turn on the lava lamp, you got to give it minimum of 4 hours runtime

And other question: Does someone know, how to recover it when it already have experienced the too high wattage bulb and some of the wax is already stuck on the top?
