Requesting info on 36w & 66w SOX lamps « on: February 23, 2015, 12:44:02 AM » Author: lights*plus
This may be interpreted as a rant, but that's not my intention.

I've been searching for information on 36 & 66 watt SOX-E lamps, such as..
Why do they exist or what wattage do they replace?
What gear are they supposed to be run with (not DIY fluorescent ballasts, etc)?

Now I know it's hard work adding information in the title and description for each upload here on LG, but it should be mandatory, for both, as I sometimes find NO description. Also "File information" is useless (most of the time) and it should be optional with a drop-down link (if that's possible). Anyway, thanks for any info or links.

I have some SOX-E 66 w lamps and lanterns. SOX-E 66w is designed to replace a SOX 90w. As they are exactly the same size when compared.Same goes for SOX-E 91 w, it replaces 135 w and those are of the same size too. E lamps are mostly used with electronic ballasts. I will post some links here from my gallery :

I have the same question for SOX-E 66w. Since it is of the same size can it run on 90w conventional ballast? I don't wanna try that but if anyone has an idea or knowledge please let me know.

Aha, thanks for that explanation. Better is to use the correct configuration.

.."correct configuration." ..and that is..??

So the SOX-E designation is for "Electronic" ballast and not "Energy efficient"?
