I have DOZENS of these ACE branded tubes:

They work in my rapid start fixtures (probably 1980s era fixtures and newer) but NOT in my preheat fixtures.  Why is that?

I have had no problems with this, except with EOL lamps with broken filaments.

As it turned out, several of the ACE lamps I tested had one open filament.
