Running MH bulbs on a MV ballast « on: June 18, 2015, 12:48:53 PM » Author: Solanaceae
I recently won three advance H37 Mercury ballasts. The model number is: 71A3572-001D feat. 71A3592 core and cool kit. The ballasts have an ocv of 225-275. Could these ballasts run a 250w probe metal halide lamp? If so I will try to find a housing for this and I'll use it for next years indoor garden.

The OCV of MV ballast is 240V and the one of the probe-start MH ballasts is 310V. Probe-start MH lamps may ignite from the 240V of the MV ballasts, but not as reliable as with the 310V of the probe-start MH ballast. But it is possible to operate MV lamps on probe-start MH ballasts.
