I just picked up a "new" Westinghouse 175W MV lamp and a Feit 175W MV lamp.  They are both the new BT28 shape (basically ED-28 with a small bulge at the end instead of a dimple).  Both are made in China :-\ but the Feit looks better built.  The Westinghouse is a clear top with the unsupported arc tube typical of imported MV lamps, however the Feit is phosphered all the way to the end, and actually has arc tube support straps! :)

The new westy mercs are junk. They're known for premature failures and even arc tube ruptures (it happened to don93s, a member of LG). Some lamps last 5 years tho. Just unpredictable.
