What are some good spots for keeping my lighting? Some places we can't use: Attic: It's a pain to get up there, we only go to the attic for fixing the air conditioner. Basement: We don't have one! If we did, if flooding comes, say bye-bye to all of your precious light bulbs. Bathroom sink: Not enough space! Shed: I actually have some lighting in there, but I have pretty much filled all of the space I have in there without getting rid of the non-lighting-related items. There is the possibility of installing one of my fixtures in there, but it is not strong enough for that, because we already have a heavy shop light in there. Can you think of some places?

Bed: My bed has drawers underneath, so not an option. Shelves: Maybe an option, but not enough space, as I already use shelves for my light bulbs. Closet: Potential solution. I am clearing out a closet right now. Garage: We don't have a garage, but maybe in the future.

I use my attic for some of my light collection.Only place I can use for lights that are not being used-but only for outdoor type lights. If it has batteries or electronics in it-store in the house.I don't have a basement or a shed.High water table in my area.My neighborhood is actually a swamp when nature wants it to be.Also have some parts vacuums and boxes of electronic tubes in the attic.Got the tubes from a guy that used to have a TV repair shop.

Florida has a really high water table, so basements are very rare here. And to get up to the attic, we have to get a big ladder which we store outside, get it in the house somehow, lift the attic cover, and crawl inside.

Do you have an enclosed front porch with windows instead of screens? I have one and my fairly large collection lives out there with no problem.

Nope. Wish we did. Even if we did have an open porch, the rain is so hard that it would get in and the humidity would make everything rust.

Crawlspace under the house ?
There is actually loads of space there, but the climate of Florida is unforgiving for lighting. Ours has a sand bottom, complete with wires snaking all around, plus a humid, heat filled microclimate. A better place is a little part of the crawlspace underneath the stairs, but to get there, you have to go through a very narrow closet and a little square hole you have to screw on and off, then you have to deal with Ethernet cables for our networking project. The good part is that it is semi-air-conditioned and has a concrete floor, but the bad part is that the space is tiny, so you would only store a few small things in there.

Now, everything is in the basement or my room, with random pockets scattered throughout. When we move, imma box up some of the stuff I don't use often and put it in the attic, if the storage room is filled lol.

You have a basement? And we might be moving soon, too. Hopefully the new house will have a garage.

One good solution for storing lamps in places where they may get wet is heavy plastic storage totes. I have moved much of my collection to our leaky garage and water ingress problems are minimal with them. Only problem is they are $9 to $12 each and a big collection needs a lot of them.
