| http://brainerd.craigslist.org/for/5688866620.htmlI just found this when I searched "Mercury vapor" on the local craigslist. You have no idea how startled I was to see it, all I was expecting to see was yardblasters. It is near my cabin, and I am going to try and get rid of more stuff so I can get it. Is it rare? | |

 | It kinda looks like a 60s head, judging by the label. I've seen that GE had gumballs as late as the 60s, so this could be late production, or also a retrofitted Incan gumball. Judging by the green thing it looks to have been for series wiring originally, and it kinda looks like it has a bullethole on the side, tho. | |

 | You could make your own with an MH ballast, but I have never seen this before. Looks rare. | |

 | It says "Westinghouse" and "175 watt mercury vapor lamp" on the socket so I assume it is original. As for the bullet hole, could it be fixed? | |

 | See that black hole above the insulator? Unless it's something on the housing or an image anomaly. | |

 | Do you kno any metal workers? You could patch it with some jb weld and paint over it to match the color of aluminum. Or as a temp fix a large enough bolt. | |

I would probably just use JB weld. Also, is it possible that the bullet damaged the ballast? If so, could I fit a Plusrite M57 ballast in it?

It doesn't take much to test it, just some careful wiring.

Even if it doesn't work, I still want the housing.

 | There's the possibility of getting molds and fabricating your own, out of molten metal. | |

That is WAY beyond my ability. Plus, where would I get a refractor and mold?
