You likely could do it, but be aware that it may be overdriven like that.

Likely not, but it's best to have good safety in case something does happen.

The European 150W HPS and worldwide 150W Pulse Star MH use the same Magnetic ballast spec, so if the ballast is Magnetic, the MH lamp would work corectly (as long as the ignitor can start it, some HPS ignitors are not too good at starting MH). It will be a bit underrun if you use 50Hz gear on 60Hz power
The fact it is rated 50..60 Hz makes me think its Electronic gear in there. Then it might do odd stuff with a lamp it is not rated for, but it won't end up in explosion. Check : Maybe the gear itself does list MH, the you are in the clear
And the socket in the luminaire is E40, tho on my experience E39 lamps fit in E40 socket fine, you might have to replace the socket (with E39 or E26 if you want to use with E26 lamp)

It is electronic gear, the other pic shows a Philips DynaVision, I agree with Ash here, it will do `funny` things to the lamp!, although European wire wound gear is compatible with both HPS/MH lamps, the HF gear isn`t, it will more likely damage the ballast not the lamp if you ran a MH in it. But on the plus side it will work HPS lamps fine on 60 Hz.

I think only Urbis lanterns comes with electronic ballast, as all of the new Schreder Sapir 2 lanterns in Qiryat Ata, have magnetic ballast + superimposed ignitors.

The Electronic ballasts in road luminaires are a thing of the last 10 years or so, and they are manufactured alongside with the Magnetic so there is either option to choose. The Magnetic is cheaper so that is why it is chosen, unless somebody wnats the Electronic for specific reason

Is this made in Hungary?, if so is this associated with Tungsram? ( some Schreder fixtures are) And I love Tungsram bulbs and fixtures more than MOST other lighting)

Most parts of this lantern made by british Urbis, and Urbis Sapphire, are the british version of the Schreder Saphir. Most of their parts (Especially the PC socket and in the past, also the gear [Parmar]), are made in the UK. Urbis lanterns currently available only with electronic gear, while the original Schreder GIE lanterns, are both magnetic and electronic. There is no relation with Tungsram here.
