A favorite resort of mine here in Colorado installed these lamps awhile back. They are not LED or MH. But much much better in my opinion. http://ultratechlighting.com/snow_bright/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHN_io0n59w

Sounds like they are making induction fixtures with lots of marketing.

Ski slope lighting-this sounds like a GOOD application for induction lamps. For parking lot lighting--TERRIBLE--MH MUCH better.

Well however they do it, it looks DANG nice and is easy on the eyes when night skiing. MH & MV & LED leaves a lot of glare and reflection off of snow surface.

The Induction lamps do look great for ski slope lighting.I don't like them for parking lot lights. The MH is better. The cool color of the induction lamps works well in lighting snow surfaces-but not blacktop. There are some places here that use the induction lights for their parking lots-the MH they had was better.Their induction lamps make people and cars look like ghosts! And their intensity isn't good. For real practical purposes the induction lamp could be considered a form of flourescent lamp than HID.Go to the plant lamp websites and they sell induction plant lamps at RIDICULOUS prices!

I disagree. I've done my fair share of night skiing and the MH lamps flat out SUCK on the slopes. I'd rather see MV over MH. I'm going to be going up to Steamboat in the next few months and will be sure to grab a night ski session in so I can see for myself, but if it is anything like the video- which I am sure it is, I already like the way they are.

I am not a skier-would be neat to see the slope lit by the Induction Lights. From the video and pictures-it appears that induction lamps are ideal for this purpose-but not others. The ability to "hot Restrike" is a good safety feature for people skiing on the slopes. Are the lights backed up by a generator in case of power outage?
