I think seriously to remove these two CFL in my bedroom's fixture and retrofit to Globe SuperBulbs. Sometimes their filament crapped out early with a sort of yellow-white stuff, but at least they aren't fire hazard....  ;D

I don't use CFL's unless they are made in the USA not China. That's why i don't like CFL's that much!

Thats weird. Sylvania is always a good brand in my parts. Their cfls usually have a programmed start ballast. Maybe you just got a bad one.

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights!
Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

The failure rate of many brands is quite high after 3000h (about one year at 3h/day).

Better convert the fixture to two 11W PL-S - you get longer bulb life, redundancy, better quality bulbs available and (including the high magnetic ballast losses) the same electricity consumption and more light then these spiral scrap...

In the first video, the CFL tube is doing what is called "snaking," and many fluorescent tubes including linears will do this early in life.  It usually stops after the lamp has a few hours on it.  It's pretty much a normal occurrence; however, if it doesn't stop, then there is probably something wrong with the ballast.
