F14 T12 or T8 strip « on: July 17, 2017, 07:50:22 AM » Author: suzukir122
If anyone can make or cut fixtures down to F14 fixtures that can fit HPF trigger start ballasts (even better if it's two lamps)
post those fixtures on Ebay and I WILL buy them.

Just get some sheetmetal & make your own - its not all that hard. That's what I did -pic- (I used a LPF ballast, but HPF would fit)

You could also technically cut a 3-footer & get 2 F14's out of it.

 8) Believe it or not, I remember seeing that pic a long time ago back in 2011. This is unfortunately an
area I have serious trouble in though... anything that involves building. Especially if it's a scenario where
I'm following written or typed directions. Pictures on how it was made, or a video, would make this very easy for me.

@HomeBrewLamps:
Yep just another size.

The lamps used to be quite common to see, you could get them at any store that had even a somewhat decent selection of bulbs/lamps.

seen any lamp on sale, for just $1. Not even used lamps

I've paid way less than $1 for so many (and especially if you count used, some of which I even got free)
I guess you need to start really searching the clearances/sales/etc at normal stores
(and for used.. garage-sales / thrift-stores / etc)

Like xmaslightguy said, and I'll buy these new in the box and get the entire box of 25 for a few bucks at the local re-store and GLS are like 10 cents, hid under 150 watts are like a $1 or $2, over they are between $2 to $20, ballasts range from $0.50 to $40, I just sent homebrewlamps a 1000 watt tri-tap (120-277-347) CWA HPS sylvana ballast new in the box I paid $5 for it he paid the same plus shipping, want me to grab you anything while I'm out.. I've even got self ballasted 24 watt metal halide PAR 38 lamps new in the box for $10 to $15 a bulb (they used to be $5 but I think they figured out what they are worth.)

haha... I guess I should rephrase that... I've never seen any lamps *online* for sale for just $1... that requires shipping to
your address through online services, etc.

If you haven't seen his work, it's a thing of beauty on his gallery and at that price you can't go wrong ..

I accept... but the only way I'll buy is... if you post what you've made on Ebay. That will make buying
your fixture quick and easy for me. But for now I'll stick with the one lamp F14's... and it must be able to fit T12's.
So yes, if you make F14T12 strips that can fit HPF trigger start ballasts, and post on Ebay, I WILL buy it.
