I've seen some MV lamps flash like switch start EOL for about 10-15 seconds before restriking (hot restrike). In fact, my street light does it.

And now my west lifeguard lamp is refusing to even turn on  :(, there's a bit of glass rolling around inside it, ugh not a good day, I swear I'm a put a lock on my door

Atleast I still got the Sylvania I guess
The Sylvania was still in its case when all this crap took place so it works just fine, put it in light below, it flashes a little like a mh on warmup... Weird
Still a little pissed about this, but oh well, can't change history, can only prevent the gremlin from causing more havoc... Should I save the thing? It appears the bit of glass is a chunk from one of the ends of the arctube, when she got ahold of it she must've impacted it against something causing the tube support to shatter the end of the arctube, so I believe unfortunately there is no saving this specific lamp, but as much as I don't like keeping useless items about curious if it's worth keeping around

Man sorry to hear about your lamp! I would have lost sleep for a while if this happened to me, for this reason i keep all my lamps HID and fluorescent locked away in my closet in boxes and the doors have fixtures sitting infront of them. But i worry about flooding, fires or natural disasters ruining everything. Can not rebuild the collection if it goes..

In my experience, flooding does not damage bulbs too bad, heck, one of the 400w HPS bulbs I literally pulled out of a foot of water, and it had likely been sitting there for quite some time, like years....still works!

But anyway, yeah it is what it is, hopefully I stumble upon some more lifeguard lamps, finding a clear one would make me happy as a kid in a candy factory.
