									| Hi. What do you guys think of these old GEC fluorescents that I managed to salvage from a job im rewiring.. there are 8 complete units all working, with BC type 5foot tubes. Very art deco, taken from a diamond house in Glasgow sitting above the suspended ceiling. Got a few spare components also... nice

									| The white metal covers come off over the end caps, just a screw holding it in place, to reveal Bayonet cap sockets on flying leads....neverseen this before myself.  I believe the shop got refitted in 1952... see pic

									| Lamps range in age from the 1960s to mid 80s (Thorn EMI is from between 1984 and 1987)

									| You have correctly identified these lamps as having been introduced in the 40s, but they in fact remained in production until 1992. Since then, installations have been maintained with ‘composite’ lamps, in which a standard Bi-pin ended tube is fitted with BC adaptors at each end.  Indeed there are still a few of these luminaires in operation on London Underground!
