ITT Low Pressure Sodium NEMA
|
Sounds like a lot of supervisor/management types OK residential lighting should not be included by that. Back home, the vast majority of residential yard lights are NEMA/barn buckets using mercury vapor. Ya look out into the hills at night and see little points of blueish white light....but....If you are in the hills looking over the city, all you see is a sea of orangish light. The sky glows orange too.....that's not caused by the barn buckets!

instead of putting a flat glass on the old fixtures, why not use a glareshield instead, either way its cheaper than purchasing new fixtures.

I don't care for special interest groups like that either who don't show any respect for other peoples' opinions and tastes. They should be ashamed of themselves for getting mercury vapor lights banned and because of that, many mercury vapor lights have been discarded over the last few years. I've noticed that lighting pollution levels have actually worsened from those new high pressure sodium lights that the power companies installed.
