phosphor in extra long life fluorescent lamps « on: March 02, 2018, 08:39:24 AM » Author: Roi_hartmann
Do extra long life fluorescent lamps use some sort of special phosphor or does regulat tri-phosphor maintain lumen output well enought when the lamp life is three-four times of normal fluorescent lamp?

I was just wondering since atleast in Aura long life warm white fluorescent lamps have very distinct colour tone. I replaced PL-S lamp in my bedroom lamp yeasterday with Aura Unique 9W 830 and which reminded me about this since it has same pink tone than long life t8 lamps from Aura light.

I've wondered about this as well.  I know triphosphors do degrade in light output and light quality enough to be noticeable when compared to an identical new lamp after even a few thousand hours, but then again there's a difference between keeping you out of the dark versus correct color temperature and CRI; for the latter case even every 6 months is a recommended replacement replacement schedule.
