Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

I don't think sodium lighting is all that special, I don't see how they're having a hard time maintaining them. unless it is some sort of fancy self ballasted sodium lamp...

it's the fixtures that are falling apart and not able to find or reproduce parts for it.

I think they will probably just replace them with Pemco reproduction radial waves with LED lights. And they will keep the old ones when they replace them because it said they will get the old lights to use on private property.

IMO any town or city doesn't look right with them...   >:(

Parts of some cities still have gas lighting, they won't be able to retrofit those with LEDs  :D

That's because if people were presented with the costings of how much it would be to replace all the lamps versus the projected savings they would vote it down.  >:(

It may not look right, but some NH towns are doing it anyway! What a stupid decision to replace lights that have lasted 70+ years with some generic junk that won't last 5 years!

As long as the fixtures themselves aren't rusty and the sockets aren't damaged , I fail to understand why they just can't replace the main feeder cable to the lights and then just change the wires to the individual lights themselves and install Filament style bulbs ! I replaced the wiring on the old Benjamin light I installed on my garage in no time .

Most of the ones here are perfectly fine! I hope more towns with incandescent end up using the filament LED lamps. Thanks to the efforts of Joe M and Steve Z, Harrisville NH incandescents will be restored and fitted with filament LEDs. Definitely much better than replacing the whole thing!
