I have a lithonia lighting 400 watt probe start flood light that lights for 45 seconds or so then goes out... is this the eol symptom of the older bulb! Stays dark for 1 min then tries again..?

Yeah that's an EOL symptom. It's rare but sometimes they fail this way. How old is the lamp?

Cant make out the stamp but starts with a G and a 6 maybe... I've used the bulb for 2 years in my dusk to dawn fixture and it was used when I first got it!

Do you have another lamp to test it with? Try testing the lamp in another fixture even if its lower wattage it shouldn't cycle.

If the lamp cycles, it means that it is EOL. This is true for HPS, pulse start and probe start MH lamps and mercury lamps.
