I stumbled on the Yahoo streetlights groups first back in summer of '06 while researching MV. Then, while looking through links to other sites, I found this! I was amazed at all the pics and descriptions. Also, I wonder how many other lighting enthusiasts are out there that haven't found this yet!

I started visiting metal-halide.net site before LG redesign.  I found this link from Historic Dischage lamp from UK website.  When I clicked that site again, here is LG website.  Got hooked on this ever since.

I find LG cause I searched for Hellux lanterns and Santaarnpaal have a Hellux one, so I find "his" gallery I thought at first (but really , he have posted a lot of pictures :D) first after I saw all his pictures I noticed this is a side for a lot of members :D, I find LG also circa one month before I entered to LG as member.

Funny thing LG did exist when Metal-Halide.net had existed...the Metal-Halide.net and LG are made by the same webmaster, but Metal-Halide.net was the webmaster's personal lighting page, and I'm kinda surprised you never saw LG, when Metal-Halide.net was up since LG link was in that site...But he since took the page down and it automatically goes to LG....

The story for me, is actually pretty interesting....I told someone what I was interested in, and the person influneced me to find out brands, models, of lights and sorts......so I started doing that.....the first site I found was Jim Terry's Streetlighting Webpage (he actually was the very first to create a streetlight forum from what I was told..which is still up and running, Yahoo groups Streetlights-I I believe. And I saw the link in his personal page which brought me to Streetlights-I which in that page had a link to LG! I found LG in roughly December 2005, and joined in January 12, 2006.. I had gotten my first HPS lamp I found on the ground in December 2005! Wow what a ride!

I've found LG back in late 2007 through the link to LG that used to be on the Wikipedia page on streetlighting. I've looked at some of the posts and pictures there although I've think that LG used the have a green layout before. I've only joined and started posting in mid March of 2009.

i found LG through Joe Mauraths glass insulator collection. I was originally googling fluorescent streetlight.  i signed up right away.  i dont remebber when i did sign up.    i was originally thinking i was one of a couple of people in the world who was lighting obsessed.   i thought LG was the best thing on earth!

Perhaps I should add a note here:

I know it for already four or five years, after a web search on some lighting-related matter. And now I thought this Easter would be a good opportunity to put some photos online I considered suitable for this place already for years. This also because setting up own lighting-related webpages is out of question, since a day has not 48 but just 24 hours.

Thus also the batch uploads, which I hope were no annoyance. Meanwhile I'm almost done with the pictures taken between 2002 and 2006...
