Chinese Low Pressure Sodium Lamps (Knockoff Remanufactured) « on: June 18, 2019, 05:23:04 PM » Author: ElectroLite
I came across these lamp listings while browsing Alibaba. Unlike many others that resell genuine Philips lamps, these look to be manufactured by someone else as the internal design does not resemble Philips's design that has nipples for the sodium. They are probably far worse in quality, however with Philips closing down their SOX lamp factory this may be one of the only options going forward, that and they are a little cheaper than genuine Philips.

Here is the first listing I found, probably the most practical. Sold by Tonhi Electric with the lamps being branded as "PRO-FAV", and a minimum order quantity of 50.
LINK 1
They sell everything up to 135w lamps, and they seem to be alright. I wish I could try it but I'm not risking wasting hundreds of dollars on junk. Maybe one day when I can pick up (far) less than 50...

Here is the second listing I found, with these being branded as M-ALite. These are way more expensive, although they have a minimum order quanitity of 10 pieces, and if you order over 100, you can customize the branding.
LINK 2
I am not sure if these are knockoffs or genuine rebranded philips lamps, due to the price being so high. At least they discount it if you order more.

Here is the third listing. This one is seriously unrealistic as the minimum order is 1000 pieces. You could probably negotiate with the guy, although that may be a total waste of time. I'm including this as if you go to one of their listings, they have FrontSideBus's 18w SOX-E video as their product video. I wonder if he knows??  :)
LINK 3

If these are actual knockoff SOX lamps, I am seriously interested in what these may be. They may be our only option going forward, given they're not rebranded Philips lamps. If you guys are interested in this, search up "Low Pressure Sodium" on Alibaba and see what comes up.

I believe even the Chinese have given up with LPS tech now also, some of our members on a UK forum have used these Chinese SOX, branded ‘VISION’, and they barely do a year in service.

These could be better though as it looks to be that they're a different manufacturer. I'm curious to see how these will stand up to real world usage, given that the Philips ones aren't that great nowadays either.

I might get some 55w lamps as I currently have a Sylvalux 55w fixture on my garage.

I bought two more 90watt right after my June18 post. Original heads-up:https://www.lighting-gallery.net/index.php?topic=5869.0

It was $20 & free shipping for a 90 watt originally. Was CDN$39.20 per lamp & free shipping when I bought 2more June18. Now it's CDN$66.38 & FREE Shipping.

(Btw $1 CDN = 0.75 USD)

我记得我在闲鱼上看到过有中国制造的低压钠灯,是90-91W还有55W。

These chinese ones are crap. Ive tested 3 of mine out so far. (2 55w and 1 35w) both 55w i got less than a year out of and the 35w i got a year from. The 2 55w both failed Cycling. One of which failed on Monday! Never seen a sox fail like that before, and the 35w failed with the inner arc tube fracturing!

It really is worth getting them imported from UK EBAY if you can afford to. Some ebayers are selling second hand 26w SOX E and 35w SOX lamps for £25 for 3. Ill post some links below.

These are no longer going to be manufactured after November i believe. So if i were you guys id take a deep breath and just order them before the prices absolutely sky rocket.

Last orders have gone in for SOX. Deadline for last orders was 1st July 2019. They are making what has been ordered then that is that!

35w - £21 for 2 used https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113822453630

35w - £28 for 3 used https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123800904543

26w - £25 for 3 used https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113752628621

Altho they are used they are quite cheap. Ask him about postage over seas

Yep, these are THREE used lamps for £25 (26w) and £28 (35w). I put an offer for both trios and seller accepted. I'm in Canada btw. The pair of 35watters is a new listing.

It is unusual that it was actually cycles, since LPS don't suffer from voltage rise during life like HPS lamps, since they are low pressure lamps. Also, they are mercury free.
