Vaccum Flourescent Display Experiment « on: November 24, 2008, 06:16:49 PM » Author: form109
when i connect a vaccum flourescent display to 2,000 volts at 160 ma it emits a flourescent pink/purple glowing discharge any explanation for this.

it also behaves strangely, when it heats up enough, the arc goes out, when it cools down the arc goes back on,it behaves a little like a hid lamp.

also as it heats up the arc actually gets longer until it goes out when it shorts out.
