55 SOX Ballast or ideas on how to run them with non Standard gear « on: August 26, 2019, 11:47:40 AM » Author: HomeBrewLamps
I recently purchased 6 Norelco/Philips 55 watt SOX lamps it was the cheapest option i could find for more than one lamp (at 160 dollars  :o ) I currently do not posses the means to operate these lamps on 120 volts 60Hz and would really like to be able to.....

Does anyone have a spare gear set I could purchase? Ideally it'd have a socket as well but I'm not gonna be picky I just wanna finally see these lamps with my own eyes. I am willing to bite the bullet on shipping one.

As I write I'm testing both 35w and 55w Philips SOX lamps to see what electronic equivalent ballast I need. Already know that the workhorse 3 is at full output, at 0.56amps, to run these lamps and they struggle to get to full light. Might it be ok for the 26w SOX-E? Stay tuned at my SOX testing gallery: https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=3893
