i noticed that one of my phillips 150 watt incandescent lamps,started buzzing/rattiling very louldy before it went out(btw this is same type that exploded).

Fret not! That's actually normal. Sometimes just before failure, a spot on the filament melts creating a small arc, causing the noise you hear. Sometimes this causes the fuse in the stem to act and melt, causing the lamp to go out. Other times, once its turned off it'll never come back on.
