									| First, welcome to Lighting-Gallery!
So, a self-ballasted MV lamp is a normal MV lamp with a incandescent filament in serie. It serves to regulate the current, like a ballast would do with a normal mercury lamp. A self-ballasted lamp has a better CRI (color rendering index), but is less efficient than a normal mercury vapor lamp.

 Hope this helps!

									| Welcome to Lighting Gallery.
Yes provided it's at or below the wattage rating on the fixture. Meaning you can't put a 160w SBMV lamp on a 40w rated fixture. 100w SBMV can be installed in a 100w rated fixture or a 150w one. Hopes that helps.

									| Look for commercial installation material distributors, they are usually able to at least order them (in Czech Republic i use an e-shop www.e-light.cz - specialized for lighting) | |
