I've been trying to learn basic Python coding, and it's something I should go back to and do again.

It's very fun. You really should try Python again.

I know, it's trying to find the time though:

Between learning to play the mandolin, writing a book (currently at just over 141,000 words) and lantern restoration, I'm a bit stretched just now. :D

I actually just coded a basic card game called Palace in Python. It makes extensive use of lists and list functions.

Sometimes Python (if i need to build a quick program from scratch which runs on one of my mini pc), sometimes Perl (if i have time to spend).
During week, i use a bunch of different languages in my work:
- PL/Sql (Sql Server + Oracle)
- C# (aspx web pages + .net new applications)
- Javascript (for restful intranet web pages)
- VBScript + VB6 (for legacy HMI, intranet web services and legacy internal applications).

edit: i know C# is an compiled language, but in asp .net pages, you can switch between compiled and interpreted code (use CodeFile which links to .cs source in aspx declaration)

My complete set of programming languages :

Most development of various useful stuff - Perl

System admin tasks - Bash

Embedded or binary file processing - C

Intranet applications - PHP, Database - MariaDB. I do all processing on server side, and output is plain HTML/CSS. No Javascript

Back in my Windows days i used Visual Basic 6, but that is a distant memory from 16 years ago
