Philips SOX-PSG Lamp « on: November 14, 2019, 08:23:42 AM » Author: HPSM250R2
Hi friends.

Does anybody know where I can get a new Philips SOX-PSG lamp with a blue cap? I would like it to include the original cardboard Philips lamp sleeve, and have never been fired up. I am looking for one in original new condition.

Thanks.

All I can suggest is keeping an eye on eBay. I know prices there are starting to go through the roof for SOX lamps, but unless you can find a supplier who still has any in stock, there aren't many other options. We got a new 35W PSG lamp (although without the sleeve) with the Thorn Gamma 6 lantern we recently bought. We knew a lamp would be included, but there was no indication of what we would actually get. It was a very pleasant surprise to find a new unused PSG lamp in the package..!  8)

Needless to say it was safely packed away and a used lamp installed in the lantern  ;D

If you want one with a blue cap, make sure you see a photo of the actual lamp before you buy. As production came towards a close it seems they ran out of blue caps and the later SOX-PSG were made with red caps like on SOX-Plus, and the SOX-E PSG were made with black caps instead of green.

Yes my 35W PSG lamp came with a red cap, mind you I was pleased to get a new lamp at all with the Gamma 6 lantern, so to receive a PSG one was a pleasant surprise, although unfortunately it didn't come with the original sleeve. The 18W SOX-E one I have has a black cap but that isn't PSG.

Thanks James. Yes I heard that they switched to red caps towards the end. I thought the reason they did this was to make production easier. So they didn't have to stock so many different color caps. I actually also want an SOX-E-PSG with a green cap.

Did you get my PM by the way James?
