I used to call NEMA Bucket lights "Booger Lights" because they were just hanging there like a booger in the nose.  Actually, a lineman gave me that term, and it stuck with me until I joined this site and found the more appropriate "Bucket"

I don't know about nicknames, but we have five lanterns that I have given names to:

Our Beta 5 is Johnny, named after the robot in Short Circuit  :D

The Beta 79 is called Julia, for no special reason  :)

The Urbis Evolo 2 is called Joanna  :)

The Philips SRS 201 is called Anton, because of Anton Philips  :)

And lastly our Gamma 6 is called Gemma, because it sounds like Gamma.  :)

The Westinghouse OV-20 do remind me of a peanut, in fact I once heard these referred to as peanut shaped. The GE 201SA head does remind me of Lego blocks in a way. I never made any nicknames for any lights though.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.
