How long does it have left before it bites the dust?  And is it a sacrilege to have a Lifeguard lamp in this cheap chinese crap?

Why it buzzes loud? Sacrilege means something bad right ?Change ballast or whole lamp.

Replace it with a Holophane wallpack. You can always find an HPS one and convert to MH/MV...anyway, that's what I'd do.  :)
