Aren't incandescent just overheated wires?

Did you know that HIDs are being hot restriked 50 times per second?
Well depending on where you live, it might be 60 times a second
(I'm a 99.999% shure that this was a slap free joke!)
Yeah, ok

Light bulbs might be wondering who is turning on and off the switch so fastly. More like the dimmer than a switch, the switch one applies to cheap squarewave random frequency chinese inverters.

50/60 times/second that's the restriking of a cycling HID lamp during the "increasing dim glow" stage. In normal operation its 100/120 times/second...

False equivocation fallacy.
1) Hot cathode + hot gas is easy to strike 2) cold cathode + cold gas is easy to strike 3) Cold cathode + hot gas is difficult to strike
"hot re-strike" colloquially refers to option 3, not option 1.
