If possible, could you post some pics of some of your builds?
I have a world that is a subdivision of houses, here’s my best build.

You can use a payed service (not convenient) or set the server yourself. You can get an old computer for that, I recommend you a desktop computer and not a laptop, running it continuosly is not good for it, so get a desktop as you can. For the specs I recommend 1024 MB of ram and 1.5 GHz of CPU, most computers from 2005-2010 will be ok, because there will be few players. A 500GB or a 320GB disk will be more than enough, they are very cheap and the computer might have one already.

You can search many tutorials on youtube how to set a java server in your computer, and they will explain it better than me.

If it's free to do with your own computer.

I have the game too. What is the difference between a realm and a server?

A realm can constantly stay open no matter if the owner is there or not. In a standard server, it can only be played with the owner online.

The Aurora hotel, don’t know why I decided to build a hotel, but got carried away with it, it has 165 actual rooms!
You don’t realise just how long you spend on Minecraft when you start building random stuff!

I ended up building a working 2 floor realistic elevator in Minecraft. I could grab screenshots from my other computer if you guys want.
