This was once the USA's largest fluorescent lamp plant.

Aren't most Slimline and High Output lamps made at that factory? If so, then i hope it does not spell the end for those bulbs. But it really sucks that they're doing this.

I called about the tours today and they are not offering them right now due to the 'Rona so i hope the pandemic ends before the factory does.  :(

Stock up on Philips lamps while you can, they are about the only have decent ones still made that don't look like a cotton swab each time they are powered on

Ha.  The Philips fluorescent lamps are so dang dim when you start them now and have such weak cathodes it's probably a good thing they will not be produced here anymore.  I don't use Philips products anymore unless they are old stock.

Ive got 5 cases of the Alto Supreme and they all started up nice and normal-like and the ones I put in service for a while didn't even form any marks. The Ledvance and the New GE both started dim and formed some marks. The Philips are certainly no vintage mainlighter or westie but unfortunately its the best I can find up here
