Westinghouse Lifeguard H38JA-100/X (1960s BT-25) or 700w! « on: September 03, 2020, 10:42:06 PM » Author: HPS_250
I’d love to find a Westinghouse /X mercury lamp someday. I could stumble upon one, but I’ll just have to look closely due to these being so rare that they’re up there with the /Y lamps! Were they made in any wattage except 100w? Any shape except BT-25? I know that I had made another post about these, but now I’d just like to say how much I want to find one.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

Wow! 700w /X lamp must be literally the rarest lamp that exists!  :o :o
Imagine if someone completed a SET of /X lamps someday!

Honestly it would! Even a set of /C, /W, and /R lamps seem common compared to that.

I'd love to get any wattage /X lamp. Apparently the 700w /X lamps were the original lamps used in the Hollywood special luminaires.

Very cool! It would have been an awesome sight to see 700w /X lamps in use.  8) :o
