Anyone use the Panasonic DC-FZ80 camera for street lighting photos? « on: October 22, 2020, 02:48:25 PM » Author: HPS_250
Feel free to move this to the off-topic board if needed. I am currently looking for a new camera, mainly for lighting photos as well as general photography. I have researched the Panasonic Lumix FZ80, due to its 60x optical zoom and good low light performance, both of which are important to me. I also liked that it has 4K video recording capability. Has anyone used this camera for lighting photos are had experience with it?

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

I usually just use my phone (S10E) Ivecontemplated in the past getting a dedicated camera but so far the phone suffices. I can take lit arc tube shots and non glary street light photos in low light which is all I really could ask for.

I have used a Canon A720is for many night shots. with good results. This camera model is more than 10 years old, so maybe today's cameras could do better ? I dont know. This camera randomly died during the taking of a photo a few years ago, but it lasted allmost 10 years
