Universal burn!!!!!
Well yes, but with no gravity the arc would just take the form of whatever arctube, so any lamp even the u bent arctube horizontal lamps would work,

Wouldn't the arc "spread out" kind of like how a candle flame does in zero gravity, and therefore not be able to concentrate enough to vaporize the halide salts?

Not really. The arc tends to become straight, so if the arctube is in the way, the arc will be "licking" it. And that means local overheating. And generally: If you would opreate a lamp designed for Earth surface in a no/suppressed gravity environment, it will most likely overheat. Because the convection cooling, most designs rely on, works only in gravity.
