A discovery i found going to the airport. « on: June 03, 2009, 04:39:45 PM » Author: KEDER
Well, I was going to the airport to go to kentucky, (then i was going to Washington DC) (the whole trip is done, I'm back home xD) And on US 285, there was a knocked down street light pole! I noticed it, at first i was like, WHere is the light? And then i noticed it knocked down., I never got the light fixture, cause i was on the way to the airport, and i couldent bring a light on the plane xD So i left it there. plus i never even checked it. we just drove by. well, i hope i can go back to that intersection and see if its still there! Ill do that. Cause if it is, ANOTHER LIGHT TO MY COLLECTION. Well. i think a car knocked it down. well, i hope i find it!

I've had light fixtures in my checked baggage before.  Even carried a circline fluorescent adapter/lamp through security at Reagan National.  ;)

You live close to Washington DC? I was just there, for vacation, and i saw that they pretty much only had M400-A2's there with a few exeptions. But they had alot of that one kind! and lots of cutoffs too. I didint take any pictures of one. but i could see that kind outside of my hotel window where i stayed. But the light knocked over was the whole pole plus a m-400 R3, Thats pretty much the new ones they use in colorado now.

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights!
Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

Well i looked at the fallen pole. The pole was stil down, but it looks like some workers came and took the light and insulated the exposed wires. It was sad. But i did find a busted m-250 R2 on the ground today!
