True, but when you're doing that sort of thing you really need to be logged in as root anyway.

We've found that Fedora Linux works pretty well, yes it needs tweaking but then so does everything to some degree or other. I did look at Ubuntu but decided against it for two reasons, one, it is inherently insecure, in that it gives the end user far too much authority out of the box, and also I am too used to the command line structure of Fedora; Ubuntu is too different..!

LED street lights are bad. Some look good though. HID is better.

No one used Internet Explorer these days anyways, so it makes sense.

To be honest, I'm still surprised that there are still corporate intranet sites that require the use of IE. I remember even more than a decade ago people were complaining about these sort of sites only working with IE

Remember intranet != internet: there are certain technologies which you can't change from one day to another (i'm not telling about useless java applet or flash fancy animation, but signature, industrial controls, etc).

I've heard IE mode for Edge remains and will allow for old pages which only work in Internet Explorer.

Unless you are trying to run ActiveX or similar things: Edge is chromium based, so it can do something about css and javascript.

Chromium based, hmmm that's another reason to steer well clear.

In certain way it's quite worrying that beside safari for apple-people, there are no many alternative browsers that are not chromium based. Just like there isn't really any good search engines that wont use google or bing (microsoft) indexing services. Gives kinda lot of power for just few corporate entities.
