Found these in a video of 1940s Berkeley and found these on the Eastshore highway. Who made these and what light source did they use? I couldn’t possibly imagine that these were incandescent.

Good question! I’m not sure because American lanterns are my weak point, but it could well be lost to history  :wndr:

I wonder if those sleek looking luminaires in the background are GE M-2s, an early attempt at creating a low pressure sodium luminaire. I believe they used 180w NA-9 lamps.
