:wndr: What about China? Do you know how globalization and tariffs factor into those broader trends?

Wow! How did your brain do that so young? I was first inclined to fluorescents, incandescents and halogen bulbs in my house and I even broke a few fluorescent tubes in the garage on accident without my parents knowledge. The only bulb I couldn't touch was the CFL, my parents refused to let me play with that. Understandable, CFLs pose minor safety risks primarily because they contain about 3 to 5 milligrams of toxic mercury vapor and can  overheat at the end of their lifespan. What were your first favorite bulbs as a child?

I thought of street lighting in our town as a kid, as individual souls yes, most memorable ones were a pair of Stanton 7As either side of the canal bridge that I passed in my 12 years of school life, that I knew as 'the sisters' 😀, then on the same route, there was a twin arm REVO column on the roundabout that carried twin 135 watt SOX in Hyperion B lanterns, (these are the ones I miss the most in our town), as it was special for me as a kid to see such large SOX lamps in amongst all the Beta 5s 😎

The last one was an unusual installation on a corner in Sutton Lane, where there was this random, (quite out of place), 8 metre column with a 90 watt SOX on its own, surrounded by 35 watt SOX, the 90 was in between two trees, I called her the mysterious old lady as a kid! 😄

Today ALL our columns are just generic steel of all the same make and height, carrying all the same LED lanterns! 😖, I really miss our concrete ones that all had they're own unique, inanimate personalities 🙁

I definitely know how that feels! To me, the street lights with one fixture were female and the street lights with two fixtures were male. Even the modern LED street lights are no exception, I see faces in them just as much as I saw in HIDs. The Lithonia DSX Series, the Holophane HMAO Series and the AEL Autobahn Series all look like they have something to say.  :)
