Question, since it is manual start, a F17T8 works fine. Is that going to be hard on the ballast? I discussed this with Funkybulb and we think it should be OK.  I guess I could use a F8T8 but I want other than cool white.

The FO17T8 lamp is based on the Octron system that the FO32T8 lamps are part of. The Octron system is designed for rapid start operation. The F20 lamp uses more current with a lower voltage the the FO17T8 so the ballast is NOT compatible.

It starts on preheat manual or starter assisted. It seems properly bright. I guess I should run it in a fixture that I can monitor the ballast with then.
