Nah, they actually did start selling them again when this thread was posted. It's unknown if they just found a bunch in a warehouse or something or actually did a production run, but GE did actually relist them as an active product, and people could buy them again. Even if it was only temporary, it did allow some members here to buy a bunch, which is sweet.

I found out lightbulbs depot has 96pg17cw/wattmiser always in stock they are in Texas item # 00966a- 40dollars each 100$ to ship 8557642852 give em a call if you give up like I did ;D

I visited GE's web site today and noticed that the F96PG17/CW is listed again. That makes me happy. No daylight or watt miser version appeared but the standard CW is back. :D
although I don't mind some day light too for fun   ;D
