I swear I've had it with these shipping companies. I ordered this vintage Westinghouse MRF-400 from eBay and look how it arrived. The bottom frame is completely bent and a PIECE OF THE FIXTURE SNAPPED CLEAN OFF. Thankfully I got a refund, and the vintage /c lamp is OK. I am planning to have the frame bent back by a local steel fabrication company, but I am unsure how to fix the hole. Oh well. At least it *was* NOS.

Why do you like big text? The shipping companies don't really care, I'm scared whenever I order something. I'm sad for your loss, hope it gets repaired.

All photos are brought to you by Bubby industries.

Brett. Do you know of any welders? I bet they could fix that piece, and grind it down to make it like new and seemless.

Oh whoops, the editor was giving me problems with the photo size and the text. Problem sorted. Brett. Do you know of any welders? I bet they could fix that piece, and grind it down to make it like new and seemless.
I might try that same fabrication place. I'd probably bring it in on Friday.

It looks like Aluminum, so its not weldable with the ordinary electrode welder.. Gotta look for specialised place for that

I know the place I'm gonna take it to does pretty much everything, however it all depends on the cost

It was dropped with the bracket down, so when it was hit it bent in, and pushed the cable connector in too. The cable connector is mounted in what looks like some cast silumin or the like, wih thin walls too, so the thing snapped apart when it was pressed by the bent bracket

Well uh, I don't know what to do with this. Its not aluminum nor steel so it would be hard & expensive to have done.

Yes, they day I received it I opened a case and got a full refund. It's not really worth fixing; so now I have it sitting on my cabinet, lighting the room. Without that piece on the bottom, it sits on things better. Unless I am going to put it up outside or something, I'm not gonna bother welding it

Damn couriers! If there are no missing chunks maybe batch up some 2 part epoxy and glue it back in. Give it a few days to get cured. Loosen up the cable connection before gluing, be gentle with it after. Economic fix.

Yes cast alum is bit hard to repair If u still have peices u can get some JB weld epoxy Mix in some alum powder into place. Then sand it down Flat to even it out. Give it a paint job.
I dont use Fed EX here. Reaons is i lost few lamps With them. One carrier Came up while i was in kithen Slam package down on deck so hard that a 5 foot fluorescent lamp went boof on my deck.. I ran out door so fast that that Fed Ex driver tried to get away with it. I got driver name and van number called Fed Ex explained situation. At first they go dont insured Glass item. I go your dam driver did ithe damage on my deck and it uncalled for. I never saw his face again But I Still dread Fed ex. If u ever seen fed ex sorting center on You tube no wonder stuff get broken.
I also learned for irrreplace able stuff is to double box it.
