https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/keep-hid-streetlighting-available  I doubt this petition will do any good, but it never hurt to try.  Hopefully we can get friend, family, and even linemen to sign.

Need to split your game, not only up it :

1. The city have to use SON because :

 - The top of the line present day SON luminaires are as efficient as LEDs commonly used for the upgrades are

 - The energy saving with LEDs is by choosing lower output and lower power lighting for the same places. If we can do this with LED, why not choose reasonable lamp power with SON ? The existing situation is, that in many places the SON lamp used is 2 sizes bigger than what would really be needed for that place. e.g. 250W where 100W is enough, 150W where 70W is enough

 - All the rest mentioned

2. We the customers want to be able to use Mercury in our property because :

 - It is our property

By putting it all together, it looks like you want Mercury to be used by cities ? Not going to happen. Though if i was a lighting designer for a city, i would use it VERY sparingly in a few luminaires in deep areas of parks and the like, but not in any significant quantities

My town has definitely transitioned to Sodium.  When I moved here, 85-90% of the lights were Mercury.  Today, that same number are GE 201SA 100w Sodium luminaires (cat number: SAH10S1N21181)

When did you move there? Hopefully they don't go LED anytime soon.
