... yeah... I would think he would get in A LOT of trouble... as in getting fired for it. Of course it's an awesome move, as I also am not a fan of LED, but... that honestly was a very very bad move on his part if this really happened.

Not a chance, the worker is protected by a very effective union, they would have to commit a pretty serious offence before the employer could do anything, like driving a city owned truck though a building, really as much as people might dislike unions they are great to work for, and if you can get a job there, take it you'll also make more money, have better vacations and paid sick time, medical and dental benefits, a pension, and it will only be a matter of time until the pink tape goes back up on the poles, and nothing will be said....

@Lodge, I honestly hope you're correct and the man doesn't have a chance at losing his job for this, and I commend him for doing it.

From what i seen in some LED replacement projects, it is not that uncommon that a random luminaire here and there is left untouched, forgotten. It isnt even always a hard to reach one. Sometimes they return later to replace that one too, and sometimes it is left like that. I never heard of anyone getting fired for that. If the entire road in question is a small branch with 2..3 lamp posts i can see how it could be "forgotten"
This might raise some questions later though

Same here in my city. Heck there's like 7 mercury fixtures right around my apartment complex, though they don't need replacing and are working fine. They're all very bright too. Also, now that we're on this topic I forgot to mention, back in the middle of 2016, they replaced the light poles at the intersection close to my apartment and all of those lights got HPS. They didn't get LED's! Still up as of now. Except for the Speedway behind my apartment, as well as neighboring stores, none of the outside lighting near me has been LEDed yet.
