Seems like per every 1kw session, the next day you will need to twice the power. 

I use a selenite tower lit below by a few red LED stars mounted on an old heat sink and powered by an old plug pack. Love the sinister ominous glow.

A 7w? incandescant bulb, or a battery powered LED lantern.

I use some ge 4 watt blue night light lamps in a normal on off switch night light. The blue is dimmer that clear, soft white, and pink but the shoterwavelengs may cause me to not sleep well idk i may change it out for something else once im done moving.I  cant sleep with too much light or no light and also need light to not fall during andy bathroom trips. Might consider using a flicker flame or some neon lamps once i get some.

You could also try some red Christmas C7. That’s what I use and they offer the best compromise between sleeping and safety.

Isn't it not safe for you to be around that air purifier if UV light is leaking out of it?

I use a white neon bulb that I attached to a candelabra base from a broken C7 lamp installed in an automatic night light. It isn't very bright but at night it's really effective for seeing around. It looks like a tiny /DX mercury bulb.

The "leaking" is likely the visible parts bouncing around corners of the enclosure. UV doesn't do as much bouncing as it is absorbed or attenuated by many materials. Even if it weren't, I'd imagine the inverse square law puts your dosage lower than that of being outside.

What kind of nightlight do you use? Incandescent, fluorescent, neon, LED?

I prefer incandescents, spetially halogen since some incandescents hums at low levels of the dimmer.

I like incandescent since is the most similar to a candle, with a smooth CRI and a low level of blue light, wich helps a little to sleep. Fluorescent ones are a bit spiky in spectrum to my taste, and LED emmites huge amounts of blue light wich affects the sleep and can even be harmful. Red LED can be ok, but I don't like the effect much.
