Expensive Westinghouse Lifeguard H44JM-100 PAR38 mercury lamp « on: June 25, 2020, 09:26:43 PM » Author: HPS_250
Much too expensive in my opinion. I’ve never seen a PAR Westinghouse Lifeguard before, so I’m not sure if this is rare or not.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

I think that most older Ken-rads were made by Westinghouse? Cool find!

I found them while visiting my aunts work and saw the who sitting on a fold out table with the word FREE taped on the edge so i decided to grab them. Only after some research i found what the where and that's kinda the main reason i joined lg so could get some info from collectors. 8;)

All Ken-Rad lamps were made by Westinghouse from the mid 40's to the early 80's.
This lamp is way overpriced. It's a UV PAR intended for use in black-light applications.

I agree that it’s overpriced. Why would a UV PAR even be so expensive in the first place?  ??? :poof:

Yes, that’s pretty much why.

Yes, that’s pretty much why.

Finding the bulbs is hard, but be prepared to pay with your house or car when buying a socket even if you have the luck to find one! I think i may just resort to making my own sockets. Most people just tape on or solder wire to the base and i will tape them on as soldering them may ruin the lamp.
