We just got slammed about 30 minutes ago from a Squall Line. We didn't get a Tornado Warning, but we did get a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, and it was most
definitely severe. After the storm was done though, Centerville got a Tornado Warning for radar indicated rotation. Not sure why, but whenever Centerville
(or close by surrounding areas to Centerville) gets a Tornado Warning, our sirens go off as well, even though the storm has passed. All of our sirens.
Even though they aren't Whelen Vortexes like the ones in Columbus Ohio, our sirens still harmonize/sound musical -- very, very scary hearing tornado sirens
during the night time.

Ooh nice. I woulda been videoing that things approach from the roof if I could.. .lol. but you know me & my love of storms.

Its been a long time since I've heard sirens go off here (and never at night).
Tornadoes really aren't an issue where I live, thats farther east in the state.

-----------
Had a nice little convective snowshower move through my area this evening. There were some massive flakes falling. (that ofcourse got videoed. don't know how well it'll turn out)
I love stuff like that too, even if its in no way severe.

ThunderStorms/Lightning/Tornados are meant to be hunted down & watched...not hidden from in the basement!

I was thinking about videoing it in a similar way that I filmed the storm on Sunday, but it was already raining before that Squall Line passed, and
I don't like motorcycle riding in the rain, even in short distances. I attempted to film from the garage, but the wind blew the rain into the garage
pretty intensely, even much before the Squall Line arrived. I also didn't want to get inside of my garage wet, so I gave up on filming completely. lol

Yep if its already raining, trying to video isn't much of an option .lol. unless you can do it through a window.
Totally don't blame you for not wanting to be out on your motorcycle in rain. That wouldn't be fun (or safe).

I one night a few years ago sat on the roof at night and watched a squall line build/come together. That was one of the best lightning shows I've ever seen!
(Not to mention just cool to see one actually form up. Probably the one & only time I'll ever get to witness something like that up close & in person)

Ofcourse once that line had built & then started moving towards me, it wasn't long before I had to come in. Wouldn't want to be out in that being blasted by wind & rain. lol
It formed up just west of me, once light rain started & I could see it was on the move towards me, I grabbed the camera & headed in...then went to watch out the window, within a few minutes it hit.

Off topic, I do hope to someday visit Israel someday... the places in Israel look beautiful from what I've been seeing.
And it's amazing the time differences... over here it's after midnight. I'm only awake because sleep has failed me.
On the topic of severe weather, our severe weather as of right now is flooding. During those recent storms as well as after,
we've received a lot of rainfall.

We had a very high heat wave and still have very dry weather. Some terrorist took advantage of the situation to ignite fires in Jerusalem and North Israel: https://www.haaretz.co.il/news/local/2025-04-30/ty-article-live/00000196-869f-dc27-a3df-f6bf432c0000

There is a chance we may see the more potent thunderstorms (Supercell storms) tonight. My county is included in the area that could see strong tornadoes, as well as larger hail.

Interesting thread. It's been a while since I posted something because I'm in college right now and the classes + studying at home or getting projects ready is time-consuming, the last thing lighting related I did was setting up the Hyperion C for our backyard area a couple months ago, my only modification was making the photocell a dummy because we don't need it to come on daily, instead it's on a regular switch.

Visible from my room as I turned it on to check on the land, it's been heavy raining for days and it's all muddy back there, no flooding as the terrain has a natural curve but it's a bit too much, there's also plenty of lightning and the town is pretty much underwater, last thing I heard was the hardware store where I got some vintage bulbs was flooded too, shelves collapsed and it's a mess inside, not a total loss yet but I saw some LED tubes and boxes of electrical supplies floating inside, power is out in that area as there's some damaged wiring.

Forecast is more rain for the weekend and next week so idk what's gonna happen, hopefully my prof understands I don't have a helicopter to get through and sends me the assignments via email or something.

Cheshire UK is slowly coming into a drought!, is given no rain for here until next Sunday, (25th May)!, and it’s been an average of 26 degrees here all last week!
The grass is starting to go yellow everywhere at the moment but thankfully it’s cooler today 😬
