Today, a freak storm blew into the Philadelphia region. More than 90K utility customers lost power, my house included.

The storm was powerful enough to snap entire tree trunks and even throw them around. Lots of debris all over the road, looks like the aftermath of a hurricane.

We just got our power back as I'm writing this, what a coincidence.

It’s summertime and getting HOT here. Back in my hometown they’re forecasting 95F to 98F as highs early next week.

Here at the coast, the air temperature is in the mid 80’s but the humidity makes it feel like almost 100F with the heat index. The humidity is what makes summers here in SC brutal sometimes.

I’ve been enjoying some swimming and cold drinks by the pool lately  8) Remember your sunscreen and stay hydrated out there this summer!

A severe thunderstorm hit us on Wednesday night and knocked out power to my job. (I'm pretty sure earlier last year, the maintenance guy told me
that the generator was suppose to STOP power outages at that facility for good. Obviously that was not the case Wednesday night, although the
generator did keep a few of those fluorescent high bays (LED tubed) in operation.) Power was restored a few hours later.
That storm also knocked down a large tree branch into my garage driveway, and just now, awesome neighbors just helped chop up portions of that
branch so that I can back my sportcar out of the garage. One of which is a well known neighbor of mine, who notified other neighbors of my issue.
Those neighbors stopped by with chainsaws, and all four of us, including my 84 year old neighbor, chopped up and threw those branch pieces out of the way.
Unfortunately my 84 year old neighbor suffered two wounds as he was throwing branches. (He was bleeding quite a bit.) He swore that he was alright though
and that it was nothing. I'm still naturally worried about him though, of course.
Now, I'm not much of a people person, at all... but I have mad respect for anyone who pops up and helps those in need, regardless of what they need help with.
That was awesome.

Only two that I know of. Both were barricaded off, however, as that area had multiple snapped telephone poles. Even now, some areas around here still do not have power.
